Pre-studio report (injury and disorder)
Frankly, the situation this time around is very different compared to when we started our previous recordings. It's not exactly that I have the money to keep the guys home, rehearsing with HFMC. In fact Thomsson, Anton and Kjelle has been away all summer on different trips on a never ending line of gigs with a whole bunch of artists and bands. That leaves Ola and me on our own except for a few occasions, to prepare for what's about to start now on thursday.
Personally I prefer to go into the studio with my head held high, knowing what to do and to have things under control. That's not exactly the case right now. Last week I crashed my left thumb and it's real bad. It's an open flesh wound, the nail is totally gone and the skin on the other side of the thumb is totally non existing. Do I need to tell you that it hurts like hell!!! The result of this is that my normally quite limited guitar technique all of a sudden sounds like I'm a master of shredding, while I now sound like I've been playing guitar for 2 weeks with my lousy fingerpicking. Anyway, none of those details will stop us from doing our best, to make this a fine record.
Anton will probably kill me for this but as we're speaking of it, this is a young Anton shredding like there was no tomorrow (by the way, he can play slow and "melodic" as well). It's gonna be real fun to record with Anton and the rest of the lads again: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DEdmSQ3f4HU
