Guitars, guitars...and guitars all over again! If all of it will work in the end, that remains to be seen? However Anton and me has been recording lots of it lately. Anton has got some solos and fills left to do. I've recorded both electric and acoustic guitars, rythm, slide and my twin lead parts. Actually I think I'm more or less ready with my guitar playing for this album and I have to say that we definitely have a bigger guitar sound this time than on our previous records. It doesn't matter if they're clean, crunchy or distorted, in my ears they all sound fat, juicy and very tasteful. I'm especially glad with the way my slide guitar turned out, with a really warm and deep tone to it.
Well, we're not the only ones who's been busy. Thomsson comes up with some new and improved bass lines/notes every now and then and Kjelle has started to track down the keys. In fact I started to record the vocals last week and I will continue to do so tomorrow.
As always Petrus (sound engineer) is trying to find new ways to hopefully get better sounds out of my guitars and my voice, putting me in strange places and positions. As a matter of fact I don't give a damn as long as we get a good result. After a slow start (the thumb) and the death of my mom, it now feels good to finally work on the songs and the recording again. After some rough months I can now feel that the inspiration is back and it feels great to record again.
