By now it's not a secret anymore, that we actually had plans to make a comeback in 2002. As I remember it I'm pretty sure Ola, Thomsson and JJ met and made plans without me the very first time while I was away on tour with The Flower Kings. When I got back home, even if I had my doubts (you just needed to check the calendars to see this wasn't going to happen), I said yes...let's have a go. In fact I have a clear picture of JJ and me sitting at his kitchen table with 2 guitars and a terrible drum machine, starting to write songs. We really didn't talk about directions or anything and we absolutely did not look back. We just started to play what felt natural at that time.
"Drowning" was the very first song to emerge out of the "kitchen sessions". It took about 2 hours to write and it immediately gave us the confidence we needed to continue. 10 songs later (3 of them ended up on the 2002 demo, "Drowning" being one of them) we finished a thing that we hadn't even started. When I listen to this song now it strikes me. It wasn't all about the riffs, I can definitely hear some blues references at the same time as there's an epic feel to it. Cool if you ask me. However, now on saturday we'll focus on our first 2 albums and in fact I really look forward to enter the stage with these lads again as it will get both "Loud and Dirty"!
